Description
We are seeking a dedicated Safety Officer to join our team for a fixed-term contract at the Jewer Airport site. The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors. This role requires strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, excellent attention to detail, and effective communication skills to promote a culture of safety.

Responsibilities

• Erection Method statement preparations and approvals from client
• HIRA preparations and demonstrations to fulfill the client’s requirements
• Site Entry pass formalities for staff and workers including medical test coordination
• Morning safety meetings and work instructions
• PPE, Tools and Tackles selection and TPI approval
• Equipment and height approach selections and client approval
• Permission from client for Unloading of the trucks
• Site clearance permissions from client
• Ownership for a safe environment
• Support & Guidance Site Erection team
• Overall Risk assessment, First Aid, Emergency readiness, Regularity compliances, Attention to process for near misses, Attention to detail to fix potential safety threats.
• Training and mockup drills to ensure safety awareness among the team.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering and in occupational health and safety or a related field.
• NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Safety Officer, preferably in construction/PEB or industrial project sites.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations, policies, and best practices within the industry.
• Excellent observational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations with composure.

Work Conditions:
This role is based on-site at Jewer Airport and may involve working in varying weather conditions. Long distance walks at site required, Flexibility to work shifts and respond to emergencies as needed.
