Description
The Service Sales Engineer (North) will be responsible for driving sales of crane services, spare parts, and annual maintenance contracts (AMC) across the northern region. This role includes identifying business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, achieving sales targets, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The engineer will collaborate closely with the service and operations teams to provide clients with high-quality and timely service.
Responsibilities
Sales and Business Development:
- Develop and execute strategies to drive sales of crane services, spare parts, and AMC across the northern region.
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities, focusing on customer needs and proposing appropriate solutions.
- Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and potential clients.
Client Management:
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Regularly engage with clients to understand their requirements and provide suitable recommendations.
- Ensure timely communication with clients, addressing inquiries, complaints, and feedback.
Sales Planning and Forecasting:
- Develop and implement sales plans to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Forecast and analyze sales trends, providing management with regular updates on market conditions and competitive activities.
- Prepare and present sales proposals and tenders, ensuring compliance with company policies.
Technical Support and Consultancy:
- Act as a technical consultant to clients, providing expertise on crane maintenance, repairs, and the benefits of regular servicing.
- Assist clients in selecting suitable spare parts and recommending appropriate service packages.
- Work with the service team to coordinate inspections, repairs, and maintenance work based on AMC agreements.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer contacts, and follow-ups using CRM tools.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on sales performance, customer feedback, and market trends.
- Ensure all documentation, including proposals, contracts, and invoices, is completed accurately and timely.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 3+ years in service sales, particularly in crane or industrial equipment services, spare parts, or AMCs.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with crane systems, maintenance practices, and the crane industry is preferred.
Skills:
- Strong sales and negotiation skills with a proven track record of meeting sales targets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build customer relationships.
- Ability to analyze market trends and customer needs to provide tailored service solutions.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with CRM tools and MS Office Suite is preferred.
- Other Requirements: Willingness to travel within the northern region as needed.
