Wire Rope Hoist
Short Description
A wire rope hoist is device used to lift the material vertically wherein the load bearing member is wire rope.
A wire rope hoist is employed where heavier lifting is desired and can lift loads up to 160t.
A wire rope hoist consists of wire rope wound around rope drum and passed through the pulleys, motor, gearbox, brakes, wheels for CT motion and a hook at the bottom.
The hoist can be hand in compact configuration wherein a geared motor is used. This type of hoist is typically used for relatively low lifting loads.
Another type of hoist is open winch where all the elements in the hoists are manufactured with independent sub assemblies for easier maintenance. These types of hoists are used for lifting very heavy loads.
